Transparency · Film Projects
A documentary’s impact begins with the story. Trust also depends on understanding the resources that bring it to life.

Films about social injustice, culture, and overlooked everyday realities require time, care, and access to people who can help bring the story to life. A transparent film budget shows that work: research and development, producers and directors, production crews, filming logistics, travel, editing, music and archival rights, insurance, and delivery.
We will connect planned costs to actual spending as a film progresses, identify donated resources separately, and explain material budget changes. At close, the account should show what was spent, what remains owed, what was saved, and whether any remaining funds are eligible to support another approved project.

Planning figures, not actual spending or a claim that the film is fully funded. Some producer or director fees may be deferred; deferred fees remain obligations.
The $15,000 reserve allows for needs that may emerge during production. Only project reconciliation can establish what is genuinely unused.
Funding received, expenses paid, unpaid commitments, and final savings have not yet been reported for this example. Once actual figures exist, they should be displayed alongside the plan, with a clear explanation of any variance.
The sample includes limited festival, publicity, and delivery costs. A broader theatrical or streaming release would need its own distribution plan and budget. Any eligible funds redirected after completion must follow the project’s funding terms, with the receiving project and opening balance recorded.
